In the first issue of Batman Eternal, which aims to explore the relationship between Batman, his allies and Gotham city, police commissioner James Gordon finds himself on the wrong side of the law.

John Constantine feels lost and confused after the fallout from his actions in ‘Forever Evil: Blight’. Now he has sold himself out to the Cold Flame and is vulnerable to attack by Spellbinder, in this issue written by Ray Fawkes and penciled by Aco.

Green Lantern Corps #30

In the newest issue of Green Lantern Corps, written by Van Jensen with art by Bernard Chang, John Stewart and his team find themselves under siege. With no way of knowing which of them are trustworthy, as any one of them could be a shape-shifting Durlan spy, things look grim.

In this Aaron Kuder-written, Jorge Jimenez-drawn issue, we see Superboy arriving in present-day earth in the aftermath of the Forever Evil storyline, and he has a deadly agenda: wipe out all superheroes!

Written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and drawn by David Lopez, the second issue of Captain Marvel sees Carol Danvers thrown into the front lines of an alien war!

Daredevil #1.50

Marvel celebrates Daredevil’s 50th anniversary with this special one-shot issue that takes readers into Matt Murdock’s future. On Murdock’s 50th birthday (symbolism!), current Daredevil writer Mark Waid teams up with artist Javier Rodriguez to show us how life has changed for the man without fear. This over-sized issue promises clues to Daredevil’s 2014 run, as well as several stories from past writers of the book.

Deadpool #27

We’ve previewed it here on Capeless Crusader, and now the big moment is nearly at hand: the wedding of Wade Wilson and his royal succubus bride! Deadpool is getting married and it’s going to be anything but ordinary! This super-sized issue promises stories from every writer to ever work on a regular Deadpool series (the list includes: Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn, Fabian Nicieza, Mark Waid, Joe Kelly, Christopher Priest, Jimmy Palmiotti, Frank Tieri, Gail Simone, Daniel Way, and Victor Gischler), as well as a slew of artists to accompany them (Mike Hawthorne, Scott Koblish, Scott Hepburn, John McCrea, Paco Medina, Niko Henrichon, John Timms, Dexter Soy, Alvin Lee, Carlo Barberi, and Bong Dazo), in what marvel is referring to as “the most important issue 27 in the history of comics!” (an obvious tongue-in-cheek reference to the original Detective Comics #27 – the issue that contains the first ever appearance of Batman, as the homage variant cover [shown below] by Art Adams would indicate).

Iron Fist The Living Weapon #1

Written and drawn by Kaare Andrews, this kung-fu epic begins with Danny Rand, AKA Iron Fist, in his penthouse, being haunted by his choice of death over life. A message from the mystical land of K’un-Lun springs Iron Fist back into action, and the future seems to be filled with revenge and blood.

Nightcrawler #1

Legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont makes his return to the franchise he spearheaded for over a decade with Nightcrawler #1, teaming up with artist Todd Nauck. This first issue sees Kurt Wagner back from the afterlife, but when Nightcrawler last teleported around the world was very different. Facing the reality of Professor X’s death, Cyclops’ fugitive status and a divide among the X-Men, Nightcrawler is determined to help right wrongs and help his fellow mutants survive. And who better to help bring about peace that Kurt’s peace-loving buddy, Wolverine?
